Luke's Birthday PIcs

It's been a long time!!

Ok so I know it has been a long time but we are back! Our computer crashed and then our new laptop wouldnt take our memory card to our camera so I got my Christmas present early a new camera (Labor Day) so now back in the grove of blogging again. Luke is going to preschool 5 days a week and we did soccer this fall. Jack goes to CMO one day a week. I will post their first day of school pics. Along with Christmas pics, this year we went home for Thanksgiving and stayed in GA for Christmas. We said when Luke was born that when he turned 5 we will start staying home in GA. It was different but very relaxing. The biggest plus was letting the kids open all their toys and play with them that day.We would let them open a couple in the previous years and pack the rest in the van, so they wouldnt get lost or lose pieces.
With it being New Years Eve, I feel like I should make New Years Resolutions (only to break them in a couple of weeks). But I still am going to keep up the tradition. The first and most important to me is to start and finish the boys scrapbooks/baby books. I have EVERYTHING to do it but just seems a little overwhelming. Second, is to lose weight it seems that is there every year but with me turning 30 this yr I have to get this done!!! I hope everyone has a happy and healthy New Year!

Luke's 1st Ferris Wheel

While we were out at the beach we went to The Wharf and did some shopping and there was this HUGE ferris wheel. Matt took Luke on the ride and I stayed back with Jack. Matt said he was surprised at how high it got once he got to the very top, Luke loved it! I am sure this is the first of many to come.

We are exhausted!!

I kind of giggle when I see the kids have fallen asleep some where around the house. I think to myself I finally wore them out. Some days it is the exact opposite. Today was one of those days that they both fell out somewhere around the house. Jack fell asleep 10 minutes after swimming this morning, I was trying to get lunch done but he was out. But with all the things to do in the summer like swimming, staying out later to catch lightning bugs, having smores at a friends fire pit, running through the sprinkler its wearing them out. When we let Luke catch a cat nap we always ask him what he is doing when we wake him up and its always "I am just resting my eyes" he says "I wasn't asleep". We are really enjoying this summer, this has been the first summer where its starting to get easier and we are getting back a little freedom. I remember thinking this 2 years ago and then I had Jack a week later. Luke is "done" with naps. I say that with quotes b/c we still have nap time on reserve in case I need to pull it out. Jack still takes nap and they are required! Today Jack slept 2 hours longer than normal, I love the summer!

Strawberry Picking

We went picking strawberries actually June 1st, after swimming lessons one day. This is Jack's absolute favorite. Jack wanted really no part of picking them, Luke loved picking them. So after 45 minutes Jack was done with it. We ended up picking close to 16 lbs, so I attempted my first time making strawberry jam. After a day of cutting and washing we have enough jam for the year. Matt is really happy, strawberry jam is his favorite.

Summer Fun

Sorry these posts are so late but Matt's grandmother, Grams, she was 99 years old passed away the first of the month so we went to Memphis for a couple of days to be with the family. Unfortunately we could not make it to Michigan for the memorial service but most of the brothers and his mom met in Memphis, it was good to see everyone. We also got to meet Matt's dad and his new wife. We will miss Grams but I know she is very happy.
Matt is doing some work to our backyard which is a big mudfest for the boys since it has been raining so much. Jack is such a daddy's boy he is the first to run to Matt when he walks in the door. Dont get me wrong Luke loves to help daddy but Jack is always under Matt's feet. So anyways Jack was helping Matt and Uncle Rick build the temporary retaining wall in the backyard. We are camping in the bottom picture. But since it has been rainy one minute and dry the next we are breaking out some of the winter activities. Come on sunshine, I need to get outside and they DEFINITELY need it, as well as every other mom is saying right now.

BMX Ramps was a Hit

Touch A Truck was a Dud

Earlier this month I took the boys to Touch A Truck, Matt was at a golf tournament. It was very last minute and I just threw them in the car thinking they are going to love this. I would have bet money that they would have loved it. They totally flipped out as soon as they turned the sirens on the police car. So the entire time they would not get out of the stroller and kept their ears covered. Luke at the very end wanted to do the forklift it was the only thing we did. He was so serious while he was raising and lowering the forklift. As we were leaving they saw the BMX ramps and thought they were huge slides, and we played there the longest. So next year no touch a truck just BMX ramps.

4 Little Monkeys Playing at the Zoo!!!!

Posted by Picasa

We recently took our "little monkeys" to Zoo Atlanta. We became members this year, so I'm sure we will be posting more pics throughout the summer. The kids had a blast and at the end of the day we let them play at the playground at the zoo. They were so tired they were asleep before I pulled out of the parking lot. It was a nice drive home. To get the kids to sit down and look at the camera is impossible, so sorry for all the random shots. Thanks Ashley, Annie Grace, and Addie for a fun day.

Happy Birthday Jack!!

On Monday (his actual birthday) Jack had a small birthday party, we had cupcakes and ice cream with some fabulous neighbors. Tomorrow I am making cupcakes to take to his school and then I think this month long birthday will be over. Now we are going to get to battle the "tough twos", so if you hear a screaming child in any store around town, their is a good possibility it will be us.

Hopping down the bunny trail

When I got out of the car from chuch the boys had went to sleep and it was just something about how peaceful they looked. Lily and Macy joined us for an Eater egg hunt in Gammy and Papaw's playroom. Every egg hunt that the boys attended this year was done indoors, they were just as happy with that than having it outside.

Happy Birthday Jack!!

I cant believe that my baby is 2. We had a birthday party for Jack while we were at my parents for Spring Break. I made these delicious cupcake pops and a tractor cake. We had my family, some of Matt's family made it. Unfortunately Matt had to stay back home in GA to work. Sorry for it being so blurry but I forgot my camera so I used my phone. Me and my sister baked all day, Gammy had crowd control with the kids. It was great being back home, spending time with everyone. The kids had a great time playing together, there seemed to be less arguments this time I guess everyone is starting to get out of the tough twos and testy threes. The Easter bunny came to see Luke and Jack bringing all sorts of goodies, it was mostly educational and last minute I threw in a batman motorcycle for Luke and truck for Jack. I took a huge risk and drove back with them during the day and they were so good, hopefullythis means I can take more trips in the near future.

Spring Program

Well, we are all better.....finally and we made it to the Spring Program. At Luke's preschool they had a cute program, each class wore a different color to make a rainbow, his color thankfully was navy. We were so proud of him he did a great job. I remember when he was two years old and we were watching a childrens program at church (not one he was in), that he would be that child running up and down the stage, and me running up there and dragging him off the stage. watching him up there We have come a long ways since the "tough twos", Matt always said that it wasn't terrible but just tough twos. Well we are getting ready to have fun on spring break, and go to a slew of easter egg hunts. We will be visiting some family members and some will come here.
